Delivering Cultural Value to the Community

CREATIVE LEARNING & COMMUNITY

Our Get Involved programme is at the heart of what The Guildhall Trust stands for, delivering inspirational opportunities so that people want to engage with culture and the creative economy.

We strive to inspire, excite, educate and entertain people in our Community, regardless of age or background, and each year have over 12,000 instances of engagement with a rich variety of activities, groups, workshops and courses on offer.

Dance Live!

The Guildhall Trust is the Presenter of Dance Live!, an annual dance contest for schools and colleges with performances choreographed to a giant digital screen. In its inaugural year, 2020, the southern region contest engaged over 2,000 pupils and with high levels of interest the event is set to expand to further regions in the future.

The Urban Vocal Group

A multi award-winning group that uses singing as a gateway to further participation in music. Established in 2008, The Urban Vocal Group became part of The Guildhall Trust in 2021 to increase the opportunities for young people to engage in singing and music-making, to develop transferable skills and to nurture positive health and wellbeing. Schools & Colleges

We support teachers and establishments in our community to provide memorable cultural opportunities and aspirational, practical sessions and advice for those interested in pursuing a career in the creative industries. Our range of free and subsidised sessions utilise our wealth of industry connections and can be delivered in the school/college setting or within venues.

The Guildhall Trust is also the Steward for the charitable affairs of Hornpipe Theatre Company, making grants available to other organisations within the PO postcode area.

Community

We deliver Cultural Value to the communities we serve. We believe that developing a passion in the arts has the power to transform lives and as such are proud to offer free or subsidised activities to those who might not otherwise be able to participate.

From music, singing and song writing groups for adults and retired persons, to baby concerts, sessions for teens, a Makers Space that is open to all and ticket schemes for disadvantaged groups, we can advise on and set up a range of initiatives.

Emerging Creatives, Artists & Skills

We believe in supporting and developing talented people within our communities to help them flourish and achieve their creative potential.

We offer programmes of support, advice and practical experience opportunities to develop skills, both on and off stage, and are a registered Arts Award Supporter.
